Tomeka is a lifelong advocate of youth in which she has over twenty years of experience. She attended Dallas Public Schools as a child growing up and continued her education at Paul Quinn College graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in Sociology. She has a Master’s in Professional Counseling from Amberton University and has performed in many capacities dealing with gang members and at risk inner city youth throughout the Dallas Ft. Worth Metroplex.
Tomeka is a committee member for Dallas Area Drug Prevention Partnership (DADPP),Texas Gang Investigators Association and the North Texas Violent Gang Task Force, serves on the SBDM committee for district high schools, and has assisted with community various organizations throughout the Metroplex. She has received recognition and several awards from Mayor of Dallas, Principal’s, and Launching a Dream after-school Program for working with youth from all different walks of life.
